Melissa is an American-born pastry cook and kitchen manager of Peruvian heritage based in New York. She left the restaurant world to become a stay-at-home mom, a journey that has been exhausting yet rewarding and, somehow, in between tantrums and diaper changes, she has been able to find time to work on her first love: writing. Most of what she writes is poetry and short stories and she hopes to one day put together a novel. When she is  not doing that, she is marveling at the wonder of her baby girl, daydreaming, and cooking while dancing to Motown records with her husband.
