This slightly darker take on love poetry is one of a couple poems
written by My Life in Yellow and included in this year’s edition of The Annual.

My Life in Yellow has a common theme throughout her work but especially on visual platforms like Instagram where the visual browsing aspects combine beautifully with her style of writing and really help her work to stand out among the rest of our talented writers.

If you’re ever walking the streets of New York City and find a bright-yellow sticker complete with poetry attached to a light post, garbage can, or maybe even the railing as you head to the subway, then you’ll know you’ve stood where greats like My Life in Yellow have walked before.
We are honored to have this and other of her works included in The Annual this year and hope you will not stop at enjoying this piece but will visit her page to check out the rest of her work. She also has a show coming up December 21st, so if you can, stop in and say hello! Details are available on her page (link is in the bio).

Over the coming weeks, be looking forward to a different highlighted poet every day, and consider those features just a taste of what the full anthology has to offer. We are so proud of all of out wonderful poets and can’t wait to share their work with you.

Both the physical and digital versions of The Annual 2018 are available in our shop now! Just click here.
