DECEMBER 2017 ǀ Tamara

This month’s one to watch is the incredible account of @theairinmylungs. The brainchild of Tamara from Los Angeles, who as an introvert by nature, writing has always been the most natural form of self expression for her, but also what originally sparked her interest in writing is just her fascination of how the simplicity of words can be so powerful and have so much meaning to someone. Simple words, when strummed and pieced together in just the right order can leave such a profound impact on the reader because they can relate to it in some way. She describes her writing as simple, vulnerable, poignant, and emotional. There aren’t any complex illustrations of imagery or creative plays on words – it just captures the raw emotions that we all feel as we go through our human experiences. And it’s that vulnerability that makes her feel, as the writer, a little…

NOVEMBER 2017 ǀ Lilly Sparks Words

This months “one to watch” is the stunning account of, Lilly Sparks Words ǀ @lillysparkswords. Lilly, heralds from Derbyshire in the UK, England. Now 25 she has been writing from an early age, as she explains: “Writing has been a part of me ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been afraid to speak out and being a shy person, I discovered that writing down my feelings and thoughts could let people hear me, without me having to speak a word. Writing is my way of life, it’s not just a passion, it’s a therapy and it’s my one true love, the only thing in life that hasn’t let me down, my words have healed me better than any person i know, ever has. After everything I’ve been through in life, my writing has always seen me through and I’m grateful for my words to put a smile on…

OCTOBER 2017 ǀ Taylor Warner

We begin our New Voices ǀ Emerging Poets series with the wonderful account of @commasandcuriosity. Such a simple and succinct writing style which still shouts an understanding of the human thought process into love and all things emotive. The brainchild of Taylor Warner, she describes it as a “mix of rawness, romance and curiosity. An honest insight into past experiences that can relate to a broad audience”. But whilst the Instagram account is a pleasure to visit and read, she does not lose any of the realness of her work, writing firstly for herself and not just to please others, something which is getting rarer these days. Aged 27, and originally from the USA, Taylor is now based in South Korea. She started writing at the tender age of 7 as a release for a tough upbringing. “Words have always been a part of my life” she explains “and I fell…
